Revving Engines and Roasting Pigs: Hog Roast Bootle’s Day at a Classic Car Show

Hog Roast BootleIf there’s one event that truly kicks off summer for us, it’s the unmistakable buzz of a classic car show! As one of Merseyside’s top catering services, we’ve made a name for ourselves feeding hungry crowds at these vintage vehicle gatherings – and let’s just say, we love it.

Now, we’ll be the first to admit: we’re better with baps than we are with bonnets. But what we lack in automotive knowledge, we more than make up for in mouthwatering menus and top-notch service. Whether we’re set up at a local fairground or a countryside estate a bit further afield, the vibes are always electric. There’s something magical about the roar of engines, the gleam of polished chrome, and the excited chatter of enthusiasts comparing carburettors and custom paint jobs.

Last weekend’s event was no exception. With sunshine overhead and over 200 classic cars lined up in gleaming rows, Hog Roast Bootle rolled in with our trusty catering van and got to work. Our mission? Feed the masses. And feed them well!

We dished up our legendary hog roast sandwiches – an absolute crowd favourite. Each roll (gluten-free or wholemeal, your choice!) was piled high with juicy pulled pork, crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing, and a generous dollop of tangy applesauce. It’s a flavour combo that hits all the right notes: rich, savoury, sweet, and totally satisfying.

To round things off, we served golden sweet potato fries, traditional chips, crisp seasonal salad, and our homemade gourmet coleslaw. Whether guests were there for the Mustangs or the Minis, everyone made time to stop by our stall!

Hog Roast BootleWe love these events, and not just because we get the chance to serve our tasty food to large crowds while soaking up the sunny weather (though both help!), but for the sense of community. Families, friends, and fellow car fanatics come together to share stories, admire history on wheels, and of course – eat well.

So if you see Hog Roast Bootle’s van parked up at a car show this summer, make sure to come and say hello! You might come for the motors, but we promise, you’ll stay for the sandwiches.
