I think we can all agree that turning 40 is a pretty huge life milestone. It brings the end of young adulthood and the beginning of middle age. Yeah, I know – none of us likes getting older. But it’s not all bad. Really.
Let’s not forget, it’s also a chance to reflect on how far you’ve come in life and really appreciate the good stuff.
But how do you celebrate something so important and make sure it’s memorable? It feels like a lot of pressure, right?
It’s natural for the big 4-0 to bring a lot of stress, especially if it’s someone else’s birthday you’re trying to make special. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Turning 40 is a BIG occasion. But like any birthday, you can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned party!
And a party with Hog Roast Southport on the job? Now, that’s a celebration to remember.
Recently, our team was hired by Nicole to serve an epic feast at her husband’s 40th birthday. Nicole pulled out all the stops, inviting 80 guests and transforming her back garden with gazebos. All she needed was a great menu to match, and we weren’t about to disappoint.
Hog Roast Southport spent all afternoon prepping our Southern Slow Roast Menu for the occasion. Packed with Deep Southern flavours and boasting plenty of variety, Nicole couldn’t have picked out a better menu.
By 8pm, guests were gathered around our stall, empty plates in hand and practically drooling as they loaded meaty BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole-roast chickens and beef brisket onto their plates alongside corn cobettes slathered with melting butter, Greek salad and mixed sweet potato and classic fries.
Non-meat-eaters were treated to our wonderful grilled vegetable kebabs. Served with optional halloumi, tzatziki dip, flatbreads, and a sweet chilli sauce that could knock your socks off, this meat-free wonder was a top pick in its own right.
Hog Roast Southport had a blast catering for this event, and we’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Nicole, her hubby and their guests were brilliant hosts, and we’re glad they enjoyed our Southern Slow Roast Feast – it’s a crowd-favourite for a reason!
