When Keely first reached out to Hog Roast Southport, she was looking for a way to make her husband’s 50th birthday that little bit more special – but that wasn’t all she wanted to celebrate! Having recently moved into a new home, she was eager to invite everyone over for a proper housewarming party. And with the two events coinciding, she thought, “Why not combine them?” Why not, indeed!
If there’s one thing better than a party, it’s a joint party and Keely knew if her big event was going to be a success then she needed some sensational food to match. With 60 guests, though, and varying dietary requirements, cooking for everyone would have confined Keely to the kitchen for much of the evening and she’d have missed out on all the fun. Nobody wants that.
Hoping to enjoy the night with the same enthusiasm as her guests, while also avoiding all the stress that comes with cooking for a large crowd, Keely made the smart choice by enlisting the services of Hog Roast Southport. We were on hand from the first query right up to the day of the event to answer any questions and put the client’s mind at ease.
And when the day of the party finally rolled around, Hog Roast Southport was first to arrive before any of the guests. Our catering team had our equipment set up in no time and the pig was well on its way to perfection before Keely knew it.
Several hours passed and guests started to flood in, immediately drawn by the smell of the smokey-sweet pork wafting from our stall. With stomachs growling and the serving time closing in, Hog Roast Southport effortlessly carved up the hog, separating the crackling, pulling the meat and serving it alongside sage and onion stuffing and applesauce.
Adding more flavour to the meal, Hog Roast Southport also prepared a choice of tomato and mozzarella salad, coleslaw, mixed salad and a piping hot potato dish, as well as a meat-free alternative to keep the vegetarians and vegans happy.
