Sam and the Hog Roast Merseyside crew had an absolute blast at the Haydock Park Racecourse Wedding Fair on the 26th of October. Honestly, we were in our element – it was one of those events where the time just flies because you’re having such a good laugh and meeting so many lovely people.
We picked a perfect spot right by the window, which gave us a brilliant view of the racecourse. Not that we spent much time staring outside – we had a job to do, after all! This time we weren’t cooking (no sizzling hogs on the stall – sorry!), because we wanted to put all our energy into chatting with couples about their big day. But we didn’t leave anyone hungry. There were bacon Frazzles, Mr Pork pork scratchings, and a little showcase of our favourite Sauce Shop sauces, which always make an appearance as part of our usual catering set up. Let’s just say, the snack table was very popular.
Our team really went to town on making the stall stand out, and it worked. Couples were popping over all day long to ask questions, pick our brains about menus, and even have a cheeky sample of our snacks. Some, it turned out, were already following us on social media, while others were just discovering us – either way, it was so nice to meet everyone in person and hear about their wedding plans.
By the end of the day, Hog Roast Merseyside was nearly out of business cards. Seriously, people were taking them like sweets! And that little moment – seeing that so many couples wanted to keep in touch – made all the setup and early start totally worth it.
Our team had such a fun day, full of laughs, good conversations, and plenty of excited wedding chatter. But if you missed us this time, don’t worry – Hog Roast Merseyside will be back at more wedding shows in the area in the future.
