Hog Roast Coniston Headed Back To The Coppermines For Another Dazzling Wedding!

Hog Roast ConistonHave you ever imagined getting married way up in the mountains – just fresh air, wild views, and the sound of waterfalls nearby? If that’s your vibe, The Coppermines could be the spot you’ve been searching for.

With the Coniston Water below and breathtaking views of the Fells, The Coppermines is one of those places that takes your breath away – and trust us, we should know!

Hog Roast Coniston has had the pleasure of catering quite a few weddings there over the years, and it always feels incredibly special. Earlier this month, we were back again, this time for Ash and Chris’ wedding day – and yeah, it was a good one.

The couple put so much thought and effort into every element of their wedding, so being chosen to cater their big day was a massive honour. Hog Roast Coniston’s catering manager, Sam, worked closely with the couple to fine-tune the food and timings, making sure it all flowed just right.

On the day, we made our way up to The Estate Office and got cracking with the canapés. We always find these little bites of heaven are a great way to start things off. From breaking the ice to whetting appetites ahead of the main meal, you can never go wrong including a canape selection in your meal plan.

Ash and Chris picked four of our favourites: mini Margherita pizzas with basil oil and pepperoni with hot honey, fish and chip cones with tartare sauce, mini Yorkshire puds with steak and horseradish, and tomato-halloumi bites. Needless to say, every last crumb was devoured!

Hog Roast ConistonBy the time 5:30pm rolled around, everyone was chomping at the bit to get stuck into the main. And the Southern Slow Roast certainly hit the spot! There was minted lamb, tender beef brisket, and Cajun-spiced chicken for the meat eaters, and for the veggie and vegan guests, we served jackfruit rolls and grilled veg and halloumi kebabs.

We also laid out huge chafing dishes that brimmed with buttery corn, seasonal veg, and new potatoes – plus seven portions of chicken goujons and chips for the little ones.

Then came dessert – profiteroles and little homemade cheesecakes with cream and berries. Bit of a showstopper, if we do say so ourselves.

Everything ran smooth as butter. Ash and Chris got the big day they’d always wanted, and Hog Roast Coniston was just happy to be part of it.
