Hog Roast Carlisle Spreads Christmas Cheer At McVitie’s!

Hog Roast CarlisleWhether you’re partial to a chocolate digestive (or ten) with a cuppa in front of the telly or love arguing with people about whether Jaffa Cakes are actually cakes or biscuits, we all know – and love – the brand behind our favourite British biccies. Founded in 1830 in Edinburgh, Scotland, McVitie’s has become the best-selling biscuit brand in the UK with an ever-growing selection of products.

But behind all those dangerously moreish treats is a hardworking team who keep the magic going day in, day out. And this December, the folks at the Carlisle factory on Church Street are getting a bit of well-deserved magic of their own – because Hog Roast Carlisle has been invited to cater their enormous Christmas celebration!

And when we say enormous, we’re not joking. The event spans three different shifts, starting bright and early at 8:45 am on the 10th of December, running all the way through the afternoon, and picking back up for the night crew until 4 am the next morning. All in all, 1,100 hungry guests will be joining the festivities. A challenge? Definitely. But a challenge we’re buzzing to take on.

Hog Roast CarlisleTo keep things festive, hearty and inclusive, Hog Roast Carlisle will be rolling out a 50/50 mix of meaty mains: slow-roasted pork with that golden crackling everyone drools over, applesauce and stuffing, plus juicy turkey paired with cranberry sauce. For anyone skipping meat altogether, we’ve lined up two brilliant alternatives – grilled veggie kebabs (with or without halloumi) served with tzatziki and flatbreads, or BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls that pack a flavourful punch.

And because no one wants a dry plate at Christmas, we’ll have freshly made mixed salad, our much-requested gourmet coleslaw and a choice of wholemeal or gluten-free rolls and wraps for building the ultimate sandwich tower.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a December do without a proper pud, so we’re rounding things off with our rich chocolate good Yule log served with cream. It’s indulgent, comforting and the perfect finale for our fellow sweet tooths.

Hog Roast Carlisle can’t wait to feed the brilliant McVitie’s crew – and trust us, we’ll be sharing the full scoop once the flour settles!
